It was a perfect day for the McDonogh School at the inaugural Baltimore Ravens 7-on-7 Passing Jamboree Tournament at M&T Bank Stadium on Friday.
The Rams, who were 6-4 last season, shocked everyone by beating Good Counsel in overtime for the championship. Good Counsel is ranked #15 in MaxPreps.com's Preseason Top 25 Early Contenders Poll.
McDonogh won the championship when Jabri Weems caught a 33-yard touchdown pass from Joe Jorgensen on the final play of the game.
The Rams beat North Hagerstown in the first round of the single-elimination tournament and then advanced to the final with a seminfinal win over DeMatha.
DeMatha bounced back to win the bronze medal game beating Poly. Briar Woods took fifth place with an overtime win over River Hill. 7th place when to Frederick with a victory over North Hagerstown.
