DeMatha Wins Fifth Straight Washington Catholic Athletic Conference Title
2007 won't go down as DeMatha's (Hyattsville, MD) most dominating performance in its five year run of Washington Catholic Athletic Conference titles, but it end just like the four prior ones...with a win.
DeMatha beat Good Counsel 12-7 on Sunday to capture its fifth straight crown and 15th in head coach Bill McGregor's 26 years as the main guy.
The Stags won it with a solid defense that limited Good Counsel to 132 yards of total offense. The championship comes just two weeks after Good Counsel came from behind to beat the Stags 28-24.
